Shell Navigation and Search
Move through routes, use universal search, follow direct links, and return safely.
Shell Navigation and Search
The shared shell owns global navigation, route loading, browser history, search, overlays, the Card Inspector, and the media player.
Open a destination
- Use the navigation menu for known surfaces.
- Use shell search when you know a title, alias, Card name, glossary term, or task phrase.
- Select a route result to open that registered destination.
- Select a Manual result to open the exact article.
- Select a Card result to open the shared Card Inspector.
Significant Manual filters and article links have stable URLs. Browser Back and Forward return through those states.
Search safely
Search results are filtered by the server before they reach the page. Asking for an admin audience cannot grant admin access, and restricted result titles or counts are not returned to an unauthorized viewer.
Direct links
A route link keeps its destination intent, such as a tab or section. A Manual link can include an article and heading. If a typed target no longer exists, it appears as unavailable instead of guessing.
Open the Compendium or return to Start Here.
Card links
Card references always use the shared inspector. A Manual article never creates a second Card modal or private Card renderer.
