You do not have to have it all figured out

Start with what is here.

You may be carrying a change you did not choose, a relationship that feels stuck, grief that keeps shifting shape, or patterns that no longer fit the life you want to build.

Therapy offers a place to slow the pace, make room for what is true, and notice possibilities that are difficult to see when you are in the middle of it.

Therapy

Care shaped around the way you live and relate.

Pivot Therapy works with adults and couples through secure telehealth across Colorado. The work is collaborative, attentive to context, and paced around what feels useful and sustainable.

01

Individual Therapy

A thoughtful space for adults navigating trauma, grief, major transitions, identity, emotional overwhelm, relationship patterns, or the aftermath of crisis.

Sessions make room for both immediate concerns and the larger histories, relationships, and systems that shape them.

02

Couples Therapy

Support for partners who want to communicate more clearly, interrupt recurring conflict, rebuild trust, or understand the deeper patterns organizing their relationship.

The goal is not to decide who is right. It is to create enough steadiness and clarity for each person to participate differently.

Focus Areas

The concerns are real. You are more than the concern.

01

Trauma & its aftermath

Working with the ways difficult experiences can continue to shape safety, connection, and daily life.

02

Grief & bereavement

Making space for loss without imposing a timeline or a single way of moving through it.

03

Life transitions

Finding orientation during changes in work, identity, family, health, place, or purpose.

04

Relationships & communication

Noticing recurring cycles and building more direct, flexible ways of relating.

05

Crisis aftermath

Regaining steadiness and meaning after periods of acute stress, disruption, or overwhelm.

06

Cross-cultural experience

Respecting how culture, migration, community, and belonging influence the way people understand themselves.

The Approach

Grounded in clinical experience. Centered on the human experience.

Therapy at Pivot is active and collaborative without being prescriptive. We can be curious about patterns and meaning while staying connected to practical needs, consent, and the pace that feels possible.

Trauma-informed

Choice, pacing, boundaries, and nervous-system awareness are treated as part of the work—not as afterthoughts.

Relational

People make meaning in relationship. Therapy considers the connections, histories, and systems surrounding the individual.

Culturally responsive

Care is approached with humility and respect for culture, identity, values, community, and lived experience.

Collaborative

You bring expertise about your life. Mitra brings clinical experience, attention, and questions that can help open another view.

Presence.
Curiosity.
Context.

About

Mitra Van Vuren

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Experience that can hold complexity without losing sight of the person.

Mitra Van Vuren brings more than a decade of behavioral-health experience to her work with adults and couples. Her background includes psychiatric assessment, crisis and suicide-risk evaluation, trauma-informed care, grief, addictions, and support across culturally diverse communities.

Her earlier professional work has included hospice and bereavement counseling, group counseling, conflict mediation, program development, organizational leadership, and work in cross-cultural and international settings.

At Pivot, that experience supports a grounded, exploratory style of therapy—one that makes room for complexity while helping clients find language, choice, and a steadier relationship with what they are carrying.
